There is a real difference between a camera system that records to a DVR on or off premises and a live monitored camera system. Storage devices are great for storing evidence needed for prosecution in a criminal case, but they do nothing for getting you a response to your emergency. Many camera systems that record to a DVR or off-site storage device are accessible remotely by the end user, but you have to be watching the cameras 24 hours a day to be able to catch a burglar in the act!
Global Alarms offers 24 hour camera monitoring services. When an alarm is triggered at your home or business our operators will log into your camera system and dispatch police. We can give the police dispatchers pertinent information that may help to catch an intruder in the act!
Camera monitoring is the equivalent of having a guard on duty 24 hours a day on premises. We’re on the lookout and we can respond quickly in the event of an emergency. We know when it’s important to dispatch police and when a person should be notified of suspicious activity.
Global Alarms also offers 24 Hour watch service. We can schedule for a live operator to view your surveillance system periodically throughout the day to ensure that business is running properly. This solution is perfect for shopping plazas, truck yards and other areas where a security system may not be practical.
For smaller businesses and residential applications, Global Alarms can still provide a traditional CCTV camera system or IP camera services. Not sure of the differences? Let us explain:
A traditional CCTV camera system would be comprised of hardwired cameras that transmit video images to a DVR through cabling. This DVR or digital video recorder would store video images continuously until the storage capacity limit of the hard drive is reached.
Today’s CCTV systems can be remotely viewed via smart phone application or internet capable device. The homeowner or small business owner can live view these systems at any time without interrupting the recording of these images. In the event of suspicious activity the owner can view images that have been stored on the hard drive of the DVR including video that was stored during previous days, weeks or months. These images can be transferred to a DVD or flash drive to preserve evidence.
A traditional CCTV system cost can range from $1800.00 – $18000.00 depending on the size of application. It’s best to consult with our camera professionals to narrow down a package that would suit your needs.
Looking for an inexpensive option? Perhaps an ip camera system would fit the bill. IP camera systems start at just $348.00. IP Cameras work similar to web cams. They transmit information over your existing internet connection.
IP Cameras can be live viewed anytime via smart phone application or web enabled device. IP cameras can also record, but not continuously like traditional CCTV systems. IP cameras can be set to record when movement is detected.
These cameras record 10 second video clips when movement is detected and the video clip can be sent to your email or cell phone. Our virtual server is capable of storing up to 100 ten second video clips per account but with the emailed video clip service you should be able to store thousands of clips on your web mail account through providers such as gmail or yahoo mail.
