Recently Honeywell security has been working vigilantly to combine the technology of Z-Wave home automation with Honeywell’s superior security products. Currently a z-wave bridge is available for multiple Honeywell security panel models. The z bridge allows thermostats and lighting to be controlled in scenes. When the security control panel is armed the thermostat is set at a higher temperature and the lighting is turned off. When the security system is disarmed, the thermostat is returned to the pre-set temperature and the lights are turned on to greet the homeowner. In February of 2012 we’re expecting the release of the much anticipated Honeywell 6280i which will act just as the vera router does. The 6280i keypad from Honeywell will allow the end user to control all z-wave products remotely and independently through the same applications used to control the security system.
