Traditional emergency response systems require that you be within range of the base of the unit in order to communicate with the operator and request help. Let’s take a look at these new LifeSentry products and how they work.

Each unit contains a base, this base connects to your home telephone line for a constant connection to our monitoring center 24 hours a day. The base unit has a two way voice communicator as well as a battery charging dock. When you’re in need of help the base unit takes over your telephone and dials to our monitoring center. Our dispatchers can speak to you directly through this base unit and you can speak directly to them.

The unit package also comes with one water resistant medical pendant. This pendant is small enough to fit in the palm of your hand and can be worn three different ways. The pendant can be attached to a lanyard to be worn around the neck, can be attached to a strap to fit around a wheel chair or power chair arm or it can be attached to a clip which fits securely on your belt. This pendant has revolutionary two way voice capability right through the pendant! The pendant is equipped with both a speaker and a microphone. When the panic button on the pendant is pushed the base unit knows to call for help. The same two way voice response that is received at the base of the unit is also received in the pendant. You can communicate with our operator through the pendant itself so no matter where you are, help is just a push of a button away.

 Your LifeSentry product is monitored 24 hours a day – every day of the year. Our monitoring representatives are here to help. Sometimes medical response isn’t necessary. If you need help just push the button on your medical pendant and our representatives will be available to assist in calling medical response, a friend, family member or neighbor. There’s no need to worry about an embarassing visit by the ambulance if you only need some assistance in opening a medication bottle. We can call a neighbor or relative of your choice and relay the message of you needing assistance. In the event of a real medical emergency our dispatchers can contact the local responding medical authorities and dispatch help immediately. If you’d like us to know things that would be important in the event of an emergency such as blood type, diabetes status etc. we can relay those things to the emergency personnel as well.

The LifeSentry unit is also expandable. Up to four devices can be programmed to a single base unit. Additional pendants may be helpful in a home where there are multiple residents or a wall mounted unit may be added in places such as a bedroom or bathroom. The wall units available with your LifeSentry system are also water resistant and can be mounted anywhere inside the home. Each wall unit has a panic button as well as the two way voice system built inside.
